No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Alcoholic Beverage Code relating to providing certain notices to be posted on the premises of alcoholic beverage retailers. The bill would require individuals who hold an alcoholic beverage retailers license under Alcoholic Beverage Code, Chapters 25, 26, 28, 32, 69, or 71 to display a warning on obtaining forced labor or services. The bill would take effect on September 1, 2007.

The Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) states the fiscal impact would cost the state $29,217 in 2008 and $6,073 in 2009 for printing, postage, and replacement of damaged notices to implement the provisions of the bill.  It is assumed the TABC costs could be absorbed within the agency’s current appropriations and therefore would not result in a significant fiscal impact to the state.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
