No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Civil Practices and Remedies Code relating to jury instructions, discussions, note-taking, and counsel interim summations in civil trials.  The bill would amend the Government Code relating to exemptions from jury service and a judicial excuse of a juror, including providing that the name of prospective juror not impaneled is returned to the jury wheel.  To the extent the bill would change court procedures relating to juries, no significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would take effect September 1, 2007.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
