No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Occupations Code to require each health occupation regulatory agency to file an annual report with the chairs of the house and senate committees with primary oversight over the agency.  The bill would require the Health Professions Council to adopt a standard format that must be used by health occupation regulatory agencies in the annual report no later than January 1, 2008.

 

Based on information provided by the Health Professions Council, the Texas Medical Board, the Board of Dental Examiners, the Board of Nurse Examiners, the Board of Chiropractic Examiners, the Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners, the Optometry Board, the Board of Pharmacy, and the Board of Examiners of Psychologists, it is assumed that any costs related to the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be covered by utilizing existing resources.

 

The bill would take effect September 1, 2007.
