SB1456 by Uresti (Relating to training for public school educators in the prevention of child abuse.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require that state requirements for educator certification's that require a bachelor's degree include training on child abuse and prevention as part of the curriculum for that degree.

The bill would require the Texas Education Agency to maintain links to web sites that provide information regarding child abuse prevention on its website.

The bill would require school districts to provide annual training in child abuse prevention.


Local Government Impact

The bill would require school districts to provide annual training in child abuse prevention; costs are not expected to be significant.
