No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would add Section 775.0422 to the Health and Safety Code to authorize a county commissioners court to remove one or more board members of an emergency services district board for failure to give the required annual report or to file the required annual audit report. The bill would apply only to a report or audit due on or after the effective date of the bill.

The bill would take effect immediately if it were to receive the required two-thirds vote in each house; otherwise, it would take effect September 1, 2007.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
