SB1533 by Fraser (Relating to the transfer of certain state property from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice to Burnet County. ), Committee Report 2nd House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) no later than November 1, 2007, to transfer to Burnet County real property described by the bill. Burnet County shall use the property transferred under this Act to benefit the public interest of the state. The bill further requires that if Burnet County uses the property for any other purpose, ownership of the property automatically reverts to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Also, TDCJ shall grant to Burnet County certain utility easements to the real property described in the bill. TDCJ and Burnet County shall mutually agree upon utility easements.

 

The TDCJ and the General Land Office have determined that the costs associated with implementing the bill would not be significant.
