No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code relating to the appointment of regional presiding judges.  The bill would provide that the chief justice of the Supreme Court, rather than the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Senate, may appoint a presiding judge of one of the nine administrative judicial regions.  To the extent the bill would change who may appoint a presiding judge, no significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would take effect September 1, 2007.
