SB1614 by Duncan (Relating to the implementation of health information technology standards.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Insurance Code to require the commissioner to appoint a technical advisory committee on electronic data exchange and to adopt any necessary rules.

Based on the analysis of the Texas Department of Insurance, duties and responsibilities associated with implementation of the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.

The bill would take effect immediately upon a two-thirds vote in each house, otherwise the bill would take effect September 1, 2007.


Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
