No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Article 102.011 (a) of the Code of Criminal Procedure to authorize assessment of a $50 fee against a convicted defendant for services by a peace officer for executing or processing an arrest warrant or capias, even when the arrest warrant or capias was issued, but not executed.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2007.
Local Government Impact
The impact would vary depending on how many arrest warrants or capias are issued but not executed. No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
