SB1647 by Duncan (Relating to certain election practices and procedures, including provisions relating to the conduct of elections, voting systems, and recounts.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend several sections of the Election Code relating to: requirements for accepting voter applications; alternative dispute resolution for contract negotiations; eligibility as an election clerk, including persons who are 16 years of age and in good standing with a public or private secondary school; and charges for recounts.

The provisions of the bill would apply only to those who submit an application to register to vote on or after the effective date of the bill or to a election ordered on or after September 1, 2007

The bill would be effective September 1, 2007.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
