No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Section one of the bill would amend Chapter 531, Government Code, to require a board or agency that licenses, registers, regulates, or certifies a healthcare profession or managed care organization (MCO) to share information about the professional or MCO when requested in the context of a Medicaid fraud investigation.
Section eight of the bill would stipulate that the changes in law apply only to an investigation or an act committed on or after the effective date of the bill.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2007.

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
