IN RE:
SB1871 by Zaffirini (Relating to the compilation and reporting by the Texas Education Agency of certain student data disaggregated by the instruction method used.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
This bill would require the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to include instructional method used for limited English proficiency students in the Academic Excellence Indicator System annual report of student’s academic progress. TEA estimates that this change to the Public Education Information Management System data collection system could be absorbed with current resources.
Local Government Impact
School districts likely would experience some cost to update either locally developed data collection software or vendor software, but this cost is not expected to be significant.
