No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would establish a commission to study and report on the allocation of state resources for medical education.  The commission is comprised of nine members including a representative from the University of Texas System, Texas A&M System, Texas Tech System, the University of North Texas System,  Baylor College of Medicine, the Higher Education Coordinating Board and three other members that have expertise concerning medical education. The commission would be required to report their findings by September 1, 2008. The bill would be implemented within existing resources.
