No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Title 5, Civil Practice and Remedies Code by adding Chapter 111, which would specify that the attorney general or other attorney representing this state may not enter into a settlement of a claim or action against this state without the consent or approval of the legislature if the settlement would exceed $25,000,000 during a state fiscal biennium.
