LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

ACTUARIAL IMPACT STATEMENT

80TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 20, 2007

TO:
Honorable Vicki Truitt, Chair, House Committee on Pensions & Investments

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2190 by Truitt (Relating to eligibility to serve as executive director of the Teacher Retirement System of Texas.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

HB 2190 would remove the requirement that to serve as executive director of the Teacher Retirement System, a person must be a resident of the state for the three years preceding the person’s appointment. The bill, if enacted, would not have a significant actuarial effect because it does not propose to change the funding or obligations of any public retirement system.
