SB74 by Lucio (Relating to the creation of an address confidentiality program to assist victims of family violence, sexual assault, or stalking in maintaining confidential addresses.), As Passed 2nd House

As a result of this bill there will be a restriction upon:

(1) the open records law; and
(2) the access to government information.

Under the bill information relating to a participant of the address confidentiality program is considered confidential and may not be disclosed under Chapter 552, Government Code. The participants’ true residential, business or school address shall be disclosed only if requested by law enforcement, the Department of State Health Services for certain forms of notification, by a court order or upon consent to disclosure from the participant.
