SB636 by Hegar (Relating to excepting certain crime victim information from required disclosure under the public information law.), As Introduced

As a result of this bill there will be a restriction upon:

(1) the open records law;
(2) the access to government information.

The bill would classify certain information held by the crime victim’s compensation division of the Attorney General’s Office as confidential. Information relating to a crime victim or claimant including the name, social security number, address, phone number or any other information that if disclosed would identify the crime victim or claimant would be considered confidential.
