SB1737 by West, Royce (Relating to protecting criminal history record information that is the subject of an order of expunction or an order of nondisclosure; providing penalties.), As Introduced

As a result of this bill there will be a restriction upon:

(1) the open records law;
(2) the access to government information.

The bill would amend the Public Information Act by prohibiting a private entity that compiles and disseminates for compensation criminal history record information from compiling or disseminating information if the entity has received notice that an order of expunction has been issued under Article 55.02, Code of Criminal Procedure.
