SB1877 by Averitt (Relating to the determination of compensation under the Teacher Retirement System of Texas.), As Engrossed

 

SB 1877 would add amounts received for awards for student achievement, educator excellence, and mentoring programs and clarify that all salary amounts designated as health care supplementation are part of the definition of “salary and wages” for the Teacher Retirement System. The provisions of the bill would increase contributions to TRS, but according to TRS, the increases are not estimated to be significant. The bill, if enacted, wiould not have a significant actuarial impact.
