Pursuant to a notice posted on March 30, 2007, the House Committee on Calendars met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Woolley, at 1:34 p.m.

 

The roll was answered as follows:

 

Present:              Representatives Woolley; Chavez; Crownover; Elkins; Guillen; Hamilton; Turner; Van Arsdale (8).

 

Absent:              Representatives Branch; Dukes; Taylor (3).

 

A quorum was present.

Pursuant to House Rule 3, Section 5(2), and House Rule 6, Section 16(f), Representative Woolley moved to adopt the following proposed rule governing floor consideration of HB 1189:

 

All original amendments that will be offered during second reading consideration of HB 1189 (or SB 482, if the speaker, not later than the time of adoption of the calendar rule by the house, indicates that the house will consider SB 482, in place of HB 1189) must be filed with the chief clerk by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2007. 

 

The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                             Representatives Woolley; Chavez; Crownover; Guillen; Hamilton; Taylor; Van Arsdale (7).

 

Nays:                             Representatives Elkins; Turner (2).
