Pursuant to a notice posted on March 23, 2007, the House Committee on Civil Practices met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Cook, Byron, at 12:49 p.m.

 

The roll was answered as follows:

Absent:              Representatives Madden; Miller; Talton (3).

 

A quorum was present.

 

HB 2117

 

The chair laid out HB 2117 as pending business.

 

Representative Martinez Fischer offered a complete committee substitute.

 

Representative Strama moved adoption of the committee substitute.  The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

Representative Strama moved that HB 2117, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                             Representatives Cook, Byron; Strama; King, Phil; Martinez Fischer; Raymond; Woolley (6).
