Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on April 12, 2007, the House Committee on Civil Practices met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Cook, Byron, at 10:34 p.m.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Cook, Byron; Strama; King, Phil; Madden; Martinez Fischer; Miller; Raymond; Talton (8).
Absent: Representative Woolley (1).
A quorum was present.
HB 1602
The chair laid out HB 1602 as pending business.
Representative Miller offered a complete committee substitute.
Representative Miller moved to adopt the complete the committee substitute. The chair called for any objection. There being objection, the chair called for a record vote.

The motion prevailed by the following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Cook, Byron; Strama; King, Phil; Madden; Miller; Woolley (6).
Nays: Representatives Martinez Fischer; Raymond; Talton (3).
Present, Not Voting: None (0).
Absent: None (0).
The complete committee substitute to HB 1602 was adopted.
Representative Miller moved that HB 1602, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Cook, Byron; Strama; King, Phil; Madden; Miller; Woolley (6).
Nays: Representatives Martinez Fischer; Raymond; Talton (3).
Present, Not Voting: None (0).
Absent: None (0).
HB 1927
The chair laid out HB 1927 as pending business.
Representative Madden offered a complete committee substitute.
The committee substitute was adopted without objection.
Representative Madden moved that HB 1927, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Cook, Byron; Strama; King, Phil; Madden; Miller; Woolley (6).
Nays: Representatives Martinez Fischer; Raymond; Talton (3).
Present, Not Voting: None (0).
Absent: None (0).
(Let the record show that Representative Strama, although voting aye for HB 1927, as substituted, did so in error.)
At 10:40 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
