Pursuant to a notice posted on May 9, 2007, the House Committee on Corrections met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Madden, at 8:07 a.m.

Absent:              Representatives Hochberg; Dunnam; Oliveira (3).

 

A quorum was present.

 

SB 1741

The chair offered an amendment to the measure.

 

The chair recognized Representative Madden to explain the measure.

The chair recognized Representative Madden to close on the measure.

 

The amendment was adopted without objection.

 

The chair directed the staff to incorporate the amendment into a new committee substitute.  There was no objection.

 

Representative Madden moved that SB 838, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the following record vote:
