Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 3, 2007, the House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Pena, at 10:45 p.m.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Pena; Vaught; Riddle; Escobar; Hodge; Mallory Caraway (6).
Absent: Representatives Moreno, Paul; Pierson; Talton (3).
A quorum was present.
The chair directed that the March 27, 2007, minutes for the House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence be corrected. The corrected minutes were authorized without objection.
HB 3416
The chair laid out HB 3416.
Representative Vaught moved to reconsider the vote by which HB 3416 was reported favorably (as substituted ???) from committee. The motion to reconsider prevailed without objection.
The chair offered a complete committee substitute.
The committee substitute was adopted without objection.
The chair moved that HB 3416, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the following record vote:
