Pursuant to a notice posted on March 5, 2008, the House Committee on Higher Education met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Morrison, at 1:17 p.m.

 

The roll was answered as follows:

 

Present:              Representatives Morrison; McCall; Brown, Fred; Aycock; Giddings; Howard, Donna; Patrick (7).

 

Absent:              Representatives Alonzo; Rose (2).

 

A quorum was present.

 

Representative Morrison laid out Interim Charge 8.

At 2:05 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was recessed until 2:20 p.m., March 20, 2008.

 

The committee reconvened at 2:27 p.m. in E1.026 and was called to order by the chair, Representative Morrison. The roll was answered as follows:

 

Present:              Representatives Morrison; McCall; Brown, Fred; Aycock; Giddings; Howard, Donna; Patrick; Rose (8).

 

Absent:              Representative Alonzo (1).

 

A quorum was present.
