Pursuant to a notice posted on March 14, 2007, and pursuant to the permission granted for the committee to meet while the house is in session during bill referral, the House Committee on Judiciary met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Hartnett, at 1:30 p.m.

 

The roll was answered as follows:

 

Present:              Representatives Hartnett; Homer; Hopson; Alonzo; Gonzales (5).

 

Absent:              Representatives Cook, Robby; Goolsby; Hughes; Krusee (4).

 

A quorum was present.

 

HB 1342

 

The chair laid out HB 1342 as pending business.

 

The chair offered a complete committee substitute.

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

Representative Gonzales moved that HB 1342, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                             Representatives Hartnett; Homer; Hopson; Alonzo; Gonzales (5).

 

Nays:                             None (0).
