Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 11, 2007, and with permission granted to meet while the house is in session, the House Committee on Judiciary met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Hartnett, at 12:20 p.m.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Hartnett; Hopson; Alonzo; Cook, Robby; Gonzales; Goolsby; Hughes; Krusee (8).
Absent: Representative Homer (1).
A quorum was present.
SB 1814
The chair laid out SB 1814 as pending business.
The chair explained the measure.
The chair moved that SB 1814, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Hartnett; Hopson; Alonzo; Cook, Robby; Gonzales; Goolsby; Hughes; Krusee (8).
Nays: None (0).
Present, Not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representative Homer (1).
SB 1204
The chair laid out SB 1204 as pending business.
The chair explained the measure.
The chair offered an amendment to the measure.
The amendment was adopted without objection.
The chair directs the Committee staff, with the consent of the Committee, to prepare a new complete committee substitute incorporating the adopted amendments.
The chair moved that SB 1204, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Hartnett; Hopson; Cook, Robby; Goolsby; Hughes; Krusee (6).
Nays: Representatives Alonzo; Gonzales (2).
Present, Not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representative Homer (1).
At 12:31 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
