Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 14, 2007, and being granted permission to meet while the House was in session pending receipt of Senate messages and reading and referral of bills, the House Committee on Public Education met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Eissler, at 6:25 p.m.

 

The roll was answered as follows:

 

Present:              Representatives Eissler; Zedler; Dutton; Hochberg; Mowery; Olivo (6).

 

Absent:              Representatives Branch; Delisi; Patrick (3).

 

A quorum was present.

 

The chair directed that the May 8, 2007, minutes for the House Committee on Public Education be corrected. The corrected minutes were authorized without objection.

 

SB 4

 

The chair laid out SB 4 as pending business.

 

(Representative Patrick now present.)

 

Representative Dutton moved that SB 4, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                             Representatives Eissler; Zedler; Dutton; Hochberg; Mowery; Olivo; Patrick (7).

 

Nays:                             None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:     None  (0).

 

Absent:                          Representatives Branch; Delisi  (2).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

At 6:29 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
