Pursuant to a notice posted on December 19, 2007, the House Committee on Public Health met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Delisi, at 10:03 a.m.

 

The roll was answered as follows:

 

Present:              Representatives Delisi; Laubenberg; Jackson, Jim; King, Susan; Olivo (5).

 

Absent:              Representatives Coleman; Cohen; Gonzales; Truitt (4).

 

A quorum was present.

(Representative Gonzales now present.)

 

The chair announced that Representative Coleman would not be in attendance due to a funeral in Houston.

 

The chair recognized the attendance of Representative Howard, Donna, and invited her to sit at the dais.

 

Representative Howard, Donna, sat at the dais in Representative Coleman's chair.

 

The chair laid out Interim Charge # 1 (Wellness/Healthy Lifestyles).

 

Invited testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.)

At 3:32 p.m., on a motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
