Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Administration was held on Monday, March 26, 2007, in E1.714.

The chair called the meeting to order at 3:48 p.m.  There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted: 

 

The chair laid out the recommended list for the March 28, 2007, Local and Uncontested Calendar.  The following bills were removed from the recommended list:  SB 125, SB 484, SB 605, and SB 717.   Senator Uresti moved that the March 28, 2007, Local and Uncontested Calendar be certified; the motion passed with a record vote of 5 ayes, 0 nays and 2 absent.

 

Senator Brimer asked if anyone on the committee had a problem with allowing Senator Wentworth to have 16 floor guests for his resolution honoring the Texas Medal of Arts Award Winners; no one objected.  Senator Brimer asked if anyone on the committee had a problem with allowing Senator Seliger to have 6 guests for his resolution honoring the mayors of the Panhandle and South Plains; no one objected.

 

There being no further business, at 3:54 p.m. Senator Brimer moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
