Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Administration was held on Monday, April 23, 2007, in E1.714.

The chair called the meeting to order at 12:37 p.m.  There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted: 

 

The chair laid out the recommended list for the April 26, 2007, Local and Uncontested Calendar.  The following bills were removed from the recommended list: SB 22, SB 449, SB 721, SB 877, SB 1335, SB 1696, SB 1700, SB 1814, SB 1865.   Senator Uresti moved that the April 26, 2007, Local and Uncontested Calendar be certified; the motion passed with a record vote of 5 ayes, 0 nays and 2 absent.

 

The chair laid out HJR 19 and recognized the Senate sponsor, Senator Carona, to explain the bill.  Witnesses testifying and registering on the bill are shown on the attached list.  The chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.  Senator Brimer moved that HJR 19 be left pending; without objection, it was so ordered. 

 

There being no further business, at 12:54 p.m. Senator Brimer moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
