Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Administration was held on Monday, May 7, 2007, in E1.174.

The chair called the meeting to order at 12:34 p.m. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:
The chair laid out the recommended list for the May 10, 2007, Local and Uncontested Calendar. The following bills were removed from the recommended list: HB 1279 and HB 1298. Senator Uresti moved that the May 10, 2007, Local and Uncontested Calendar be certified; the motion passed with a record vote of 6 ayes, 0 nays and 1 absent.
At 12:37 p.m. Senator Uresti assumed the chair.
The chair laid out HCR 70 and recognized the Senate sponsor, Senator Brimer, to explain the bill.
Senator Whitmire moved that HCR 70 be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 7 ayes, 0 nay, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent.
Senator Whitmire moved that the bill be recommended for placement on the Local & Uncontested Calendar; without objection, it was so ordered.
The chair laid out HB 3167 and recognized Senator Brimer, in the absence of the Senate sponsor, to explain the bill.
Witnesses testifying and registering on the bill are shown on the attached list.
The chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.
