Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Intergovernmental Relations was held on Wednesday, January 31, 2007, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.028, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:02 a.m.  There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted: 

 

The Chair offering welcoming remarks, introduced Committee staff and recognized other members to introduce their staff representatives.

 

The chair laid out proposed committee rules for the 80th Legislature.  Senator Nichols moved adoption of the proposed committee rules.  The rules were adopted by 4 ayes and 0 nays.

 

There being no further business, at 9:10 a.m. Senator Nichols moved that the committee stand recessed subject to the call of the Chair; without objection, it was so ordered.
