Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Finance was held on Monday, February 5, 2007, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.036, at Austin, Texas.

The chair, Senator Zaffirini, called the meeting to order at 9:01 a.m.  The following business was transacted: 

 

The chair laid out as pending business, SB 1.

 

Testimony was given on the following agencies.  Witnesses testifying and registering on the bill are shown on the attached list.

Senator Ogden assumed the chair. 

 

The roll was called, and a quorum was established. 

 

Senator Ogden announced scheduling intentions for the day.

 

Senator Zaffirini resumed the chair.

Senator Zaffirini clarified the scheduling intentions for the remainder of the hearing, and that any agencies not providing testimony would be rescheduled for a later hearing date.

At 1:25 p.m. Senator Ogden moved that the Committee stand recessed until 30 minutes after the adjournment of the Senate; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

Senator Ogden reconvened the Committee at 2:37 p.m.

 

Senator Zaffirini assumed the chair.
