Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Finance was held on Tuesday, April 22, 2008, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.036, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 10:04 a.m.  The roll was called, and there being a quorum present, the following business was transacted: 

 

The Committee heard invited testimony regarding the Committee's budget oversight interim charge on the following agencies:

 

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department

Juvenile Probation Commission

 

Senator Zaffirini assumed the chair. 

 

Texas Youth Commission

 

Senator Ogden resumed the chair.

 

Testimony on the Texas Youth Commission continued.

 

Texas Department of Criminal Justice

 

Senator Zaffirini assumed the chair.

 

Testimony on the Texas Department of Criminal Justice continued.

 

Senator Ogden resumed the chair.

 

Testimony on the Texas Department of Criminal Justice continued.

 

The Committee heard public testimony regarding the Committee's budget oversight interim charge.

 

Invited and public witnesses testifying and registering on the interim charge are shown on the attached list. 

 

There being no further business, at 2:24 p.m. Senator Ogden moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
