Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Finance Subcommittee on Property Appraisal and Revenue Caps was held on Wednesday, August 20, 2008, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.028, at Austin, Texas.

Senator Williams called the meeting to order at 9:05 a.m.  The following business was transacted: 

 

The roll was called.

 

Senator Williams made opening remarks to the Subcommittee.

 

A quorum was established.

 

Senator Hinojosa made opening remarks to the Subcommittee.

 

Senator Williams recognized Senator Patrick's attendance at the hearing.

 

The Subcommittee heard invited and public testimony regarding the Subcommittee's Interim Charge #2.  Witnesses testifying and registering on the subject are shown on the attached list. 

 

At 11:18 a.m. Senator Hinojosa assumed the chair. 

 

Invited testimony continued.

 

At 11:25 a.m. Senator Williams resumed the chair. 

 

Invited testimony continued.

 

At 11:55 a.m. Senator Eltife assumed the chair.

 

Invited testimony continued.

 

At 12:10 p.m. Senator Williams resumed the chair.

 

Invited testimony continued.

 

At 12:58 p.m. Senator Hinojosa assumed the chair.

 

Public testimony continued.

 

At 1:02 p.m. Senator Williams resumed the chair.

 

The chair moved that the public testimony on Interim Charge #2 be closed; without objection, it was so ordered. 

 

The Subcommittee heard invited and public testimony regarding the Subcommittee's Interim Charge #3.  Witnesses testifying and registering on the subject are shown on the attached list.
