A joint hearing of the Senate Finance Committee and the Senate Health and Human Services Committee was held. Senator Ogden and Senator Nelson served as Co-chairs, and shared presiding duties. The following business was transacted:
Senator Ogden called the Finance Committee to order at 9:00 a.m.
Senator Nelson called the Health and Human Services Committee to order at 9:02 a.m.
Senator Ogden and Senator Nelson made opening remarks regarding the Joint Interim Charge relating to a review of Medicaid provider reimbursement rate methodologies, and regarding the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas.
The chair opened the floor to invited testimony on the Joint Interim Charge, and the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas. Witnesses testifying and registering are shown on the attached list.
The roll was called for the Finance Committee, and a quorum was established.

The floor was opened for public testimony. Witnesses testifying and registering are shown on the attached list. Senator Nelson moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.
Senator Zaffirini assumed the chair at 2:10 p.m.
There being no further business, at 2:30 p.m. Senator Nelson moved that the Health and Human Services Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
