Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Finance was held on Tuesday, October 28, 2008, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.036, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.  The following business was transacted: 

 

The Committee heard invited testimony regarding the Committee's interim budget oversight charge on border security funding.  Witnesses testifying and registering on the subject are shown on the attached list. 

 

At 10:30 a.m. Senator West assumed the chair. 

 

The Committee heard invited testimony regarding the Committee's interim budget oversight charge on Texas Southern University.

 

At 10:33 a.m. Senator Ogden resumed the chair.

 

Witnesses testifying and registering on the subject are shown on the attached list. 

 

There being no further business, at 11:24 a.m. Senator Ogden moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
