Pursuant to suspension of Senate Rules 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Government Organization was held on Monday, May 21, 2007, at Senator Ellis' desk.

The chair called the meeting to order at 3:07 p.m.  There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted: 

 

At 3:07 p.m. Senator Hegar assumed the chair. 

 

Senator Hegar laid out HB 2543 and recognized the Senate sponsor, Senator Ellis, to explain the bill.  Senator Hegar moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.  Senator Ellis moved that HB 2543 be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion carried with a record vote of 4 ayes, 0 nay, 0 present not voting, and 3 absent. 

 

At 3:10 p.m. Senator Ellis resumed the chair. 

 

There being no further business, at 3:10 p.m. Senator Ellis moved that the committee be adjourned. Without objection, it was so ordered.
