Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Government Organization was held on Thursday, April 24, 2008, in the Betty King Committee Hearing Room, 2E.20, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:13 a.m.  There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:   

 

The chair recognized panel 1 to provide invited testimony on the interim committee charge regarding high performance building standards.

 

Witnesses testifying and registering on the charge are shown on the attached list.

 

The chair introduced interim committee staff, namely, E. Joyce Iyamu, Committee Director, Doug Lewin, Legislative Director, and Tina Tran, Interim Clerk.

 

The chair recognized panel 1 to resume testimony on high performance building standards. 

 

The chair recognized panel 2 to provide invited testimony on the interim committee charge regarding high performance building standards.

 

Witnesses testifying and registering on the charge are shown on the attached list.       

 

The chair recognized panel 3 to provide invited testimony on the interim committee charge regarding high performance building standards.

There being no further business, at 11:19 a.m. Senator Ellis moved that the Committee stand at ease subject to the call of the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
