Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Affairs and Coastal Resources was held on Wednesday, April 18, 2007, in the Desk of Senator Estes on the Senate Floor

The chair called the meeting to order at 2:22 p.m. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:
Senator Hegar moved adoption of the minutes from the previous hearing held on April 11, 2007; without objection, it was so ordered.
The chair laid out CSSB 1562 and recognized the author, Senator Hinojosa, to explain the bill.
Senator Hinojosa moved that SB 1562 do not pass but that CSSB 1562 be reported back to the full Senate committee on Natural Resources with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 5 ayes, 0 nay, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent.
The chair laid out CSSB 1789 and recognized the author, Senator Jackson, to explain the bill.
Senator Jackson moved that CSSB 1789 do not pass but that CSCSSB 1789 be reported back to the full Senate committee on Natural Resources with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 5 ayes, 0 nay, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent.
There being no further business, at 2:25 p.m. Senator Estes moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
