Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Criminal Justice was held on Tuesday, October 21, 2008, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.016, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 1:40 p.m.  The following business was transacted: 

 

The chair called invited testimony regarding security issues within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.  Witnesses providing invited testimony are shown on the attached list.  

 

There being no further business, at 3:26 p.m. Senator Whitmire moved that the Committee be adjourned. Without objection, it was so ordered.
