Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Health & Human Services was held on Wednesday, May 28, 2008, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.016, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 1:10 p.m.  There being no quorum present, the following business was transacted: 

 

The chair welcomed members and guests and made opening remarks on Charge #10 relating to Health Enterprise Zones.

 

The chair opened the floor to invited testimony on Charge #10.

 

Witnesses registering and testifying are shown on the attached list.

 

Upon arrival of a quorum, Senator Zaffirini moved adoption of the minutes from the previous hearing held on April 30, 2008; without objection, it was so ordered. 

 

The chair opened the floor to public testimony on Charge #10.

Witnesses registering are shown on the attached list.  No testimony was given. 

 

The chair moved that public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered. 

 

There being no further business, at 2:05 p.m. Senator Nelson moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
