Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Transportation and Homeland Security was held on Wednesday, January 24, 2007, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.016, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.  There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted: 

 

The chair made introductory remarks and introduced committee staff.

 

The chair laid out the rules for the committee.

 

Senator Wentworth offered an amendment. 

 

Senator Wentworth moved that the amendment be adopted.

 

The amendment failed adoption.

 

Senator Watson moved that the rules be adopted.

 

The motion carried with a record vote of 8 ayes, 0 nay, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent. 

 

The following members arrived after the roll was called: 

Senator Rodney Ellis

Senator Jeff Wentworth

Senator Tommy Williams

 

There being no further business, at 8:42 a.m. Senator Shapiro moved that the Committee be adjourned. Without objection, it was so ordered.
