Pursuant to HCR 70, a public hearing of the Select Committee on Public School Accountability was held on Thursday, March 27, 2008, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.036, at Austin, Texas.

Representative Eissler called the meeting to order at 9:06 a.m.  There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted: 

 

Senator Shapiro and Representative Eissler, as co-chairs, shared presiding duties throughout the hearing.

 

Senator Shapiro and Representative Eissler made opening remarks to the Committee.

 

Witnesses testifying and registering are shown on the attached list.

 

At 1:24 p.m. Senator Shapiro assumed the Chair.

 

At 1:56 p.m. Representative Eissler resumed the Chair.

 

At 2:00 p.m. Senator Shapiro assumed the Chair.

 

At 2:04 p.m. Representative Eissler resumed the Chair.

 

At 4:59 p.m. Senator Williams assumed the Chair.

 

At 5:00 p.m. Senator Williams opened public testimony.  At 5:02 p.m. Senator Williams moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

There being no further business, at 5:02 a.m. Senator Williams moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
