Pursuant to HCR 70 a public hearing of the Select Committee on Public School Accountability was held on Monday, April 14, 2008, in the San Antonio, Texas.

Senator Shapiro called the meeting to order at 10:01 a.m.  There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

Robert Scott moved adoption of the minutes from the previous hearings held on February 18, 2008 and March 27, 2008; without objection, it was so ordered.   

 

Senator Shapiro and Representative Eissler, as Co-Chairs, shared presiding duties throughout the hearing.

 

Senator Shapiro made opening remarks to the Committee.

 

 

At 11:27 a.m. Representative Eissler assumed the Chair.

 

At 11:33 a.m. Senator Shapiro resumed the Chair.

 

At 12:38 p.m. Representative Eissler assumed the Chair.

 

At 1:24 p.m. Senator Shapiro resumed the Chair.

 

At 3:34 p.m. Senator Shapiro opened public testimony.  Witnesses testifying and registering are shown on the attached list.  Senator Shapiro moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered. 

 

There being no further business, at 4:10 p.m. Senator Shapiro moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
