Pursuant to HCR 70, a public hearing of the Select Committee on Public School Accountability was held on Tuesday, August 19, 2008, in Dallas, Texas.

The Select Committee on Public School Accountability and school district officials met informally in the Dallas ISD Board Room to discuss growth models in local schools.

 

Senator Shapiro began the informal meeting at 10:03 a.m.

 

There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted: 

 

Senator Shapiro and committee member, Dr. David Splitek, shared presiding duties throughout the hearing.

 

Senator Shapiro and Dr. David Splitek made opening remarks to the meeting attendees.

 

Senator Shapiro thanked and recognized Jack Lowe, President of the Dallas ISD School Board, to make opening remarks.

 

The following people provided invited testimony.  See attached list for invited individuals.

 

No public testimony was taken.

 

There being no further business, at 2:05 p.m. David Splitek and Senator Shapiro recessed the informal meeting.
