Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Joint Committee on Oversight of Medicaid Reform was held on Thursday, December 6, 2007, in the Senate Chamber at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 10:03 a.m.  There being a quorum present at 10:05 a.m., the following business was transacted: 

 

The chair welcomed members of the committee, introduced the staff of Health and Human Services Committee, and made opening remarks.

 

The chair laid out the proposed joint committee rules.  Representative Delisi moved adoption of the joint committee rules.  There being no objection, the rules were adopted by unanimous consent.

 

The chair opened the floor to invited testimony.

There being no further business, at 12:35 p.m. Senator Nelson moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
