Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18 and a motion to suspend the 24-hour posting rule by Senator Whitmire and pursuant to a suspension of the 5-day posting rule and an announcement from the House floor on March 26, 2007, a public hearing of the Joint Committee on Operation & Management of the Texas Youth Commission was held on Tuesday, March 27, 2007, in the Capitol Extension Auditorium at Austin, Texas.

Senator Whitmire called the meeting to order at 8:44 a.m.  There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

Senator Whitmire and Representative Madden shared presiding duties.

 

Persons providing invited testimony are shown on the attached list. 

 

There being no further business, at 10:20 a.m. Senator Whitmire moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
