R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Ellsworth and Mary Rae Boswell observed a special
  milestone in their lives with the celebration of their 50th wedding
  anniversary on June 6, 2009; and
         WHEREAS, The Boswells exchanged their wedding vows at St.
  Peter's Catholic Church in Roswell, New Mexico; over the years,
  this devoted couple became the parents of six children, Annette
  Hall, Tom, Mike, John, and Susie Boswell, and the late Stan Boswell;
  in more recent decades, they have rejoiced in the arrival of eight
  grandchildren, Aaron McFall, Kady and Nelson Hall, Michael, Thomas,
  Jonathan, Aiden, and Norah Boswell, and a great-grandchild, Logan
  McFall; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Boswell was employed for many years in the
  petroleum industry, first with the Shell Oil Company, then with
  American Quasar, and later with Tom Brown, Inc., and other firms;
  after retiring in the early 1990s, he became a driver for All Aboard
  America bus lines, and in that capacity he made a number of trips to
  Big Bend and transported Midland athletic teams to various
  competitions; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to her extensive volunteer work with her
  children's schools, Mrs. Boswell has enjoyed a varied career in
  business and human services, managing the Wild River Canyon water
  park in Midland until its closing and later working in alcohol and
  drug abuse counseling throughout the Permian Basin; she has also
  owned and operated Best Home Bargains; and
         WHEREAS, Both Mr. and Mrs. Boswell are ardent sports fans; in
  addition to passing that enthusiasm on to their children, they each
  coached for many years, he with Little League baseball and she with
  girls' softball teams; during his involvement in Little League, Mr.
  Boswell managed a team with future Texas governor and U.S.
  president George W. Bush; and
         WHEREAS, Ellsworth and Mary Rae Boswell are deeply cherished
  by their family and many friends, and their enduring marriage is a
  continuing source of joy and inspiration to all who know them; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Ellsworth and
  Mary Rae Boswell on their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to
  them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Boswell as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
